Thanksgiving 2006
Thanksgiving this year happened twice! First, I was invited by Rose the Sunday before Thanksgiving. She asked if I could come over after Church because she was roasting a turkey. So, I made notes of all the things I wanted to say about Charles, and proceeded over. Turns out, it was a very nice Thanksgiving dinner with many friends, beginning with a Mimosa, happily with refills. Young Master Eli was an appropriate Assistant Host and we shared a wonderful meal flavored with much church gossip. As I had to report back to church later that afternoon, I limited my intake of wine to only six glasses during the course of the meal. Six being the maximum amount that allows one to remain within the markings of his lane upon returning home.
Thanksgiving Day with the Scullys is always a wondereful, or maybe eventful, experience with the family ranging from age two to …. well, let’s be courteous! I carefully perched myself amongst the rush of activities (which means I’m in the kitchen and in the way) where I observed and chatted and “sampled” how Scotch goes with water! Trying to learn new cooking techniques (which in my case consists merely of “open, puncture foil, rotate on high for four minutes”) I watched Chase prepare his French green beans. There were four choices for dessert and I, as always wanting to curb my selfish desire for portions and show them my gastronomic restraint (fancy words meaning don’t be a pig) and my choice was …. well, screw the gastronomy crap … I had all four.
Now, I’m going to post this on the web site with my new Camino mode as taught me by the Hunk Professor of Noo Yark Sittie and see if it works.
